400ex intake boot on 300ex

does anybody know how to put an intake boot off a 400ex onto a 300ex. I think you have to buy the intake boot, 400ex air cleaner, and cut the airbox to fit the new intake boot.

i did it on mine. you need the air boot and filter like you said. i cut out the center of the 300 box and cut off the snorkel extension on the 400 boot, then it just pops into the hole.

the 400 filter won't clear the stock lid, so i turned the lid around and did some trimming and it fit. i usually run an open lid anyways.

the 400 boot is a bit shorter than the 300, so i took off the snorkel boots on the frame so it could slide farther forward to meet the carb. then you need an extension bracket for the rear airbox mount, no big deal though.

also the seat pan will squish the top of the boot a little when its on, but its not enough to affect performance.

yea, more flow and a bigger filter.
