tube in rear tire?

well last time i went riding i got about a 1 inch slash on the side wall of my right rear tire. my question is, is it ok to put a tube in it? any responses appreciated

it is but if that tube gets punctured, you have to take the tire off the rim to fix it. You cant put a plug in if you have a tube.

a guy in a tire shop told me not to put a tube in the rear tire because when u jump hte rim is spinning faster than the tire or something:confused: :huh
