View Full Version : can this be rebuilt

well it just started snowin today and i have an old briggs and stratton go cart layin around in my garage and the clutch is burnt out i think. can it be rebuilt or do i have to buy a new one and if i can rebuild it, how much will it cost and will it be cheaper?

just buy a new one they aren't that exspensive if i remember correctly.

you should be able to get one from any small engine shop for less than $30

my cousin is talkin about rebuilding it for free if it can be rebuilt. and dont mind that busted tire in the pic of the engine, it has so much horse power, it rips the tires off it:eek2:

It'd be your best bet to just get a new centrifugal clutch like the one you pictured. They should be fairly cheap.

u need to make it a live axle, i put a 8hp on a kart just like that with a live axle, it would burnout for 20+feet, smokin the tires

wow that beast looks fast:eek2: its no national kart but it will fly. i'd say it does about 30 or 40 once it gets up to speed or atleast it feels like that. friend flipped it in a grave yard when i first got it and skinned the steering wheel up a bit. anyone notice my home made seatbelt? its a bungee strap with back pack padding duct tapped to it.

anyway, i had a friend look at it and he said it was fine and the engine was too "tight" or somethin or that the chain was so tight that it wouldnt let the clutch slip and thats why it took off everytime i started it. can someone explain "tight" to me? and now i got a bigger problem on my hands. the cord broke and the crank casing is rivited to the engine.
