what to do to my 400 ex

Hello all I have a 2001 400 ex. I currently run a white brothers e pipe, white brothers rev box, and a K&N Filter. I mostly Flat track race and Ice Race. I am cornering well but when I get into the straight away the Raptors and 450's pull away from me. I have been looking into a cam or big bore kit or new carb. I am open to any suggestions for new setup. HELP.

big bore, valve job, port it, fcr carb, and a rev box

What size Big bore? What size Carb?

bore size is up to you. I wouldnt go over 440 but id start with a 416 and maybe a 39mm fcr cam of your choice

More importantly, what is your budget?

If you wanted to try the cheaper route: head pipe, cam, and port n polish your head.

Later down the road you can get a 416 bore, and a carb and you've lost nothing. While your motor is apart sell your header and wb e-series pipe and purchase a full system. You will notice a huge improvement in performance.

i know what to do... get a real bike. Say... a 250r? i smoke 450s and craptors all the time.

In my opinion, you will not notice a huge difference with a full exhaust over a slip-on. If you get a 440, make sure you do it right or you will have some problems.
