I have been looking around at diffrent products and have found a product by the same manufators of 5min epoxy. It is called plastic weld epoxy. I was wondering if anyone out there has tried this or something similar and what they thought. It costs $6 compared to 40 or 50 for weld kits and other plastic fixer"s

I don't know about it but I know some epoxy's are a yellow looking colour which wouldn't be bad if your plastic is yellow but if ya have white plastic that might look bad!

Epoxy is OK when used in bulk. But doesn't always adhere well to plastic. You have to rough it up a bit for it to stick. Kinda like paint. Plus it really does take on a nasty yellowish tinge. Translucent yellow, not bumble bee yellow.

For plastic you are almost better off using a plastic welder and strips on plastic on the bottem. Then use some kind of exposy to fill the gap if nessesary.

If you can afford to get new, use the old as a 2nd layer underneath. Then plastic weld together. I doesn't add enough weight to worry about back in the woods. And will help make ti more riged. Just remember, with rigid you also get stiffer. If you roll it, it may actually break easier.

i think that plastic epoxy sucks.. tried it making a custom fog light cover, and it kept cracking. definately not strong enough for riding..

the actual epoxy might be a little too stiff for the vibration and bouncing around .....its a good quick fix, but i would expect it to fail
