Anyone have a starting point for jetting a 99 400ex with the choke removed, a T-4 slip-on, no-toil air filter/oil, and some (6) of those 1" uni airbox vent filters.

I am not sure what the current jet configuration is like because I bought the bike used. I am just doing this to make sure I get the most out of my pipe.

Thanks.

152-155 main and 40-42 pilot, that should get you in the ballpark.

Thanks for the reply. I have heard good things about teh choke removal and am anxious to yield the fruits of my labor.

Let me know how that turns out as I have thought of doing that myself.

no problem. I cant say for certain when it will be done though. I decided to do the choke removal after reading this thread....

All Choked Up (http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9144)

They seemed really enthusiastic about the results.

This is a follow-up to a really old post. I never did rejet by bike and just removed my airbox lid to compensate. I am finally ready to try my hand at this...

I went to buy the jets and was confused by the second jet size. What would I need, a large round main jet or a short round main jet? What is the difference? Also, for the pilot jet, there is also a small, regular, and large pilot jet. I am so confused.

Here is a like to clarify my question...

the longer ones may work in the 400ex too. i noticed some of the pilot jets are longer, some are shorter. both appear to work just fine.
