Need Info On A Stage 1 Hot Cam Please

hey i need some info on stage one hotcams please, 1st question is what do they do?
2nd question if they are in a stock engine will it not be good for the stock engine or should it be taken out and put a stock cam back in or just leave it.
3rd question do they add any power?

1) a cam (any cam) controls air/exhaust flow in and out of a engine. the stage one you are refering to is designed to be most effective in the lower rpm range, stage two is designed for upper rpms

2)i dont know why it would hurt a stock engine...although without aftermarker exhaust, and jetting/air filter, it may not be preforming to it's max

3)a stage one will add power at low to mid rpms

i put one in,it was a big emprvement over the stockone,as long as u stay stock piston,if u go to a larger bore go with the stage 2

i installed a stage 1 and am happy, i got some good torque, with a bigger cam though you'll have to adjust your valves a little more often.
