I was wondering EXACTLY what does a emergency break block off plate do?? i now a little about what they do but i would like to learn more before i go off and buy one. I have an 04 400ex and i am a woods rider. Every time i take my 400ex in the woods for a good long ride i always have to adjust the emrgency break! It always gets loose. I also heard that the e-break can wear away your rotor over time???? thanks alot for the help

all the block off does is replace the cover of the caliper that has the ebrake adjuster, so you can take it and the brake cable off.

They are easy to install for the most part. I had to grid a little off of the pin for it to fit. I think it depends on the manufacturer if that needs to be done.

It covers up the hole left by removing the parking brake from the back of the caliper.

Remember to put a little bead of silicone around the block off plate before installing it.

not needed. if u leak fluid through where the pin is and it seems out around the blockoff plate then you need to rebuild the assembly. there shouldnt be any fluid there.

I was thinking more about dirt getting in than fluid getting out.
