i got to take a tour of the saleen headquarters in california. and man was it sweet. heres an 05 that was in a show. thats my bro sitting in it.

The second i saw dream cars i immediately thought of the Saleen S7, that car is so sweet....Only car to ever beat the Shelby Cobra 427, from 0-100-0!!! and it beat it by 2 tenths of a second i think



Where is saleen headquarters ? And how did you get to tour it!!!! ?

lets just say i know some people!!!!! its in irvine california







J/K. we called ahead and went down there to visit. Some ***** behind the counter said there was no showroom and no tours. I was like i called ahead of time. Well we walked around the building and were taking pictures of a 05 through a roll up door and some high up guy came out and asked if we were waiting on someone. we said no, i told him my story. He said"really no tours huh, Ill give you a tour" He walked us through the entire building including the every step of the s-7 plant. Raw material, frames, then body and motor, to paint, finishing. It was truely amazing. I know that isnt anykind of regular tour because all the people who work on the cars were like is it ok for them to be here. the engineers build the cars.....not design them. all have race backgruond. Head motor guy is off of jeff gordons pit crew. the place was maticuless(sp). not a bolt or drop of oil on the floor at all. No tools out, everything is put away right when finished using it. We saw all the 05 s-281 transformations, a brand new gt-40 and 3 s-7's, aniversarry cars, and race cars. all i have to say is WOW WOW WOW!!!!!

There was a few saleens out in the parking lot when i went to pebble beach. I was in a hotel with a street view of cannery row (a main street in monterey) And we would just sit in the window sill with our legs hanging out watching cars go by. One drunk guy left the top of his ferrari f350 ( i think) down. Their was bird crap on the inside of it. WHAT A MORON.

-67-70 hemi cuda (convertible ~$3mil)
-hemi powered dodge dart (what can i say about this car. it was MADE to dominate the strip. skinny tired out front and monster rears)
-porsche carrera gt (my dads boss drove one a couple weeks ago at some porsche meet. this thing was NUTS)
-mercedes mclaren slr (mclaren-nuff said)

i love my bowtie no doubt but that shelby gt 500 supersnake is layin 725hp at the ground with a vortech supercharger...the motor itself is 525 hp...plus not only that shes on the bottle as well...but the 725hp comes w/o the bottle....i dont know how much she would lay at the ground on the bottle...but i would shoot my mom for that car

i am quite fond of my 3000GT (sorry chanman, not the VR-4 :( ) yes the VR-4 will run a 13 sec 1/4, might break into the 12s with a great driver. twin turbos + 320hp + exotic styling = nice ride.

i love the look of the new porche carrera GT. im not a big fan of convertibles, but that car in a convertible looks amazing. i also like the ferrari that jesse james has. a 69' camaro is also a favorite.

there are so many cars, its hard to choose. the shelby gt500 is one sweet car also. there are tons of foreign supersports cars that we would all love to have (lambos, mercedes, ferraris, mclarens, aston-martins, etc.) and a few domestics also (new ford GT, corvettes, vipers, saleens, trans-ams, chevelles, camaros, etc.) then you can take any car that you like the looks of, and do it up any way you want it. im a big fan of blown cars (tubos or superchargers).

needless to say, i think i would be thrilled to have any one of them.

That would be the Z06 Keith Black Edition, and yeah its sweet, and it flies with the upgraded computer in it! 0-60 is rediculous, 0-100 is about the same not much change, but what is cool at the normal shutdown of a 150, the Keith black edition keeps right on going like you are still going 0-60. My buddy said he had his to 200, but I do not know about that?

a stock VR4 doesnt come close to a 13 quarter mile...if your lucky on a good day you will hit mid or low 14's..the 3000GT VR-4 is a 4 cylinder twin turbo thats 4 wheel drive that weighs about 3400 LBS...with only pushin about 240 HP...the 3000GT SL is a 6 cylinder that puts out about 200 HP

i wish people would at least get their facts straight before they post...

the VR-4 is pushing 320hp from a 3.0 V6. the first gens had 300hp because they were running less boost. the SL is a GT with all the bells and whistles but no turbos basically. the SL and the base 3000GT both run 225hp from the same 3.0 V6 (and if you think im wrong, i own one - and check 3si.org for more info). they are a touch on the heavy side, but the VR-4 will run with about any car on the road today, especially from a roll.

please people, at least post factual information....

they were over weight, bloated cars that were plagued with problems. For what they COST, their PERFORMANCE NUMBERS dont even come close to being a desirable car.

I still laugh at people that drool over these cars...and before you give me the "have you ever driven one" crap....YES....I almost bought one awhile back. After driving it, I quickly returned the keys and moved on.
