I am setting my daughters 80 up for tt and short track racing and am wanting to install kart tires on the rear. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this. I know I need a go-kart axle. But not sure on sprockets, brakes and such. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Go-kart axel?? I think not.
What I do is lathe out the splined part out of the rear hubs. This part simply goes into a go-kart hub and tightened down.
Bolt on a set of kart tires/wheels and it slides right onto your LT80 axel.
All done. :)

The sprockets You will need for 12" tires::
520 chain:: 22 rear~~ 19-20-21 fronts
428/40 chain:: 26 rear~~ 24-25-26 fronts

11" tires::
520 chain:: 22 rear~~ 20-21-22 fronts
428/40 chain:: 26 rear~~ 25-26-27 fronts

I run #40 chain because::
1) less rolling resistance
2) less cost per chain
3)1/2 links available

I run nankangs on the front (what I usually run for mx on the rear)16x6.5x8.. Kart tires on the front are too low and make it dart around scaring the ba-geezus out of the parents and riders.

No brake options or differences.

I kinda slow. You lathe out the splines on the stock hubs and slide it into a kart hub? I'm not sure I understand. I'll have to look when I get home. I didn't realize it would be this easy.
Thanks alot
