Hi guys, I know this question has been asked often but I want to know something. I sold my banshee last year because it doesn't fit to my riding style (trail riding (60%), pit (30%) mx(10%). I want something fast and reliable. I hesitate between the 400ex and the 450r but I am sure i will not have enough power with the 400ex. I want to know if you have to always play with the throttle on the 450r on an open road like a 2 stroke(overheating).
Sorry for my english, I came from Quebec, Canada. What are you thinking guys??
Thanks!

WFO and no problems. the R is a decent quad for what you have explained as your riding style. the only thing a new 400ex would have that a trail/play racer may want is the magic button and reverse.

Just traded my 2001 400EX for a new 450R 2 weeks ago. Trust me, the 450R is definately the way to go. I was used to not having reverse so that wasn't a problem and as far as the kickstart goes, it fires on the first kick everytime. The R smokes the EX in every other area.

Okay thanks for your reply, but do you have to always play with the throttle while you ride it?? Can you ride it like a 400ex?
Thanks again guys!

No need to play with the throttle. Its not like a 2 stroke that needs a shot of oil once in a while.
