440 11:1...... Now what???

I'm getting bored with my FST 440 and want a little more. I was thinking of a 4mm stroke and 13:1 JE, but after reading in another post, I'm not sure that's what I want. I want gobs of torque for trail riding but don't want to lose my top end for drag racing. Now I'm thinking of just getting the 13:1 JE and getting a HD rod installed. What's some of you guys opinions?? What do ya'll have that works? I also have this strange roaring type noise while lugging in a high gear or hard downshifting coming from the stator side of the motor. I was told by a local tech that it sounded like a bad balance shaft bearing. :confused: Thanks!!

Get a 92mm piston. And some oversized valves. That should keep you from getting bored for awhile

I too have a 440 and it works well for the riding I do.....I'm not trying to be a smart*ss by saying this, But since the 440 is getting kinda boring have you considered purchasing a 450r?

If you are going to go with an aftermarket con-rod, going the stroker route isn't that much more expensive, maybe $50.00 more. If you don't mind running the full race gas thing, why not get the 13:1 piston, big valves, and stroker.

It's cheaper than buying a new 450R.

I have considered getting an R and I'm still thinking about it. I just can't see myself giving mine away to do so! With all the money i have in my 440EX, there's no way someone will even give me half of what I have in it. That's why i'm wanting to do more to it.

Sell the motor & throw in a 450r motor. I'm thinking about doing that next year & I'm sure it can be done.
