How much does a stock r make. How much increase in power does two base gaskets and a thin head gasket make.

In the old issues of dirt wheels they show the stock r putting out about 29 horse power.

My 86 with stock carb, air cleaner, 67.5mm piston and a DG pipe made 32 hp on our Dynojet Dynamometer.

By adding an additional base gasket you are not raising your compression much just increasing your exhaust and transfer port duration a little. Your best bang will be to leave the single base gasket and go to a cr250 head gasket which will give you higher compression which you will feel more in the bottom and mid range. Also, if you haven't yet remove the air box lid and then re-jet accordingly.

These are about the cheapest mods you can do to make it a little crisper throughout the power band.

As far as hp, that all depends on the elevation, temperature, humidity and air density at the time of testing.
