Can a stock 450R make it 4 laps on a stock tank without refueling?

It's worth a shot I guess, I never once had to stop on a EX.

Is someone planning a return to the stock class? And on a Honda?

We used the IMS tank on a stock bike in AZ and ran out at mile 65 .

I have yet to ride a Honda but I have a buddy that is going to bring one to Texas and he said I could race it. Cant wait to be last off the line because I cant start it!

They actually start very easily Adam! Just be careful of that rear shock, it kicks badly!

What is the trick for it to start first kick on the line? As far as warming it up and how to shut it off before the start?
Im not worried about the rear shock I rode a V-Force for a year, that literally threw me off the quad a few times that year!

start up....

I was surprised at how easy they start, I never raced one till the 12 hour and it started right away after running over to it......just make sure u find the sweet spot first!!!

Look out stock class:eek: that crazy guy on the VForce is back and he's got a real machine this time!!!

I purchased an IMS tank, which is only about a half gallon bigger than stock, because I was worried about running out of fuel. The first GNCC I raced this quad was North Carolina last year, and was surprised to find about a half tank when the race was over, and was the same every race I ran this quad. This may change with the HRC kit, but I have yet to install it, so I will keep an eye on it when the kit is in.

my trick on starting it:
roll it through a couple times, find the compression and give it a good kick. Also, for the start, MAKE SURE ITS WARMED UP GOOD! they get cold fast! If I can do it, you can! Good Luck!

Adam just make sure it is really good and warm, and it should start on the first kick.

Adam

I ran a the 450r at the last 5 or so nationals last year. As far a gas goes you should be find unless the track is extremely muddy or wide open. I didn't have to add any fuel at any of the races I ran on it. I did come close to running out at the WV race though do to alot of open field racing where the throttle was mashed to the stops.

As far a starting it. Warm it up good before the start. Fire it back up when the women take off (1st row, if stock class starts 2nd). Then just hold the hot start in and kick it (no throttle until it fires). I start mine in gear some people start in netrual. Best bet is spend some time before hand getting use to kicking it. Timing is key if done right you will be out front or close to the holeshot. I will play with the kicker a little bit before making sure I have the most kicking ingagement on the kicker gear before the 10 second mark. I do this by slowing kicking the kicker and bring it back up for the next kick slowly. You will feel and/or here it clicking into the next tooth. Do this until you feel it is in the farthest one up so the kicker will get max. rotation.

Hope this helps and Good luck

Mike

The rules are the same as previous years aren't they Gary?

Yeah the rules are the same, but a few people are bothered by the fact that some people are able to afford tire balls and use them in the stock class?? Most of the complaining is being done by guys who do not even run that class???
I think its funny that that all these new high power 450's out there and Harlen still almost won the points with his Z....

I personally really enjoyed that class alot better when it was a see of red...(400ex's) It was a blast to push those bikes to the limits........

I agree with you Jason it was tons of fun on the stock 400EX's b/c everyone was on the same bike and you had to take it to the limit.
