Most of the Top Pro Riders continue to follow the series in hope of earning the #1 Plate and the nice purse that goes along with it.

Team Suzuki is the only Pro Riders that aren't in attendance with Jeremiah Jones heading home for a break before next weeks National at Glen Helen. Jeremy Lawson injuried his shoulder and just started riding again on Thursday at Glen Helen.

Sage Baker has been a regular at the ITP Quadcross, but for 2005, he is setting his sights on the Pro Quads Series and GNC Nationals.

Sage has finished 8th at the every round of the Series. last year he raced three of the races and finished 10th, so at the age of 18, he will have plenty of time to work his way to the top.

Sage's day didn't started out great after bending his axle during practice and destory his bearings in his carrier, but him and his father,Brian, made quick work of getting the YFZ back in race form.

Lets head inside and check out the track.

The track for Round #4 looks to be the easy track so far this series. The track starts out with a 100 foot section of whoops that many of the top Pro riders were flying across the tops of the whoops.

Followed by a sweeping turn.

With John Natalie Jr in the lead, the battle for position with Kory and Jason looked familiar to the earlier qualifier race with Kory out front early.

Admin

As in the earlier race, Jason was able to get around Kory and take over the 2nd Place position.

Admin
01-30-2005, 08:21 PM
Unfortunately for Jason, he pushed himself too fast through the whoops on lap three and caught the face of one of the whoops which sent him over the bars as exited the whoops, which took him out of the race, so Kory was able to regain his 2nd spot behind Natalie Jr.

Another victim of the whoops, #97 Erin Robinson foot slipped off the pegs and went under his rear tire and twisted, OUCH:eek2:.

Luckily no one ran into him while he was in such a scary situation, but there were some close calls as riders came flying out of the whoops.

I think Erin will be checking into some IMS heal guards or Pro Armor nerfs with built in guards after this race.

Great coverage Harlen - I don't think anyone realizes how crazy your last 10 days have been - I'm amazed you got it all up already!!! :) ;)

The whole event was great - this year it was half quad racing and half monster truck show - the quads were a HUGE part of this show........last year it was more of a sideshow. Glad to see quads getting so much "air time"! :)

Natalie was pretty much flawless - he took the whoops like nobody else.......amazing.....the top riders really show what they have on tracks like this!!!! It was a great day/night!!!

I wish all the riders well on their last race in St. Louis!! :)

I think that I am going to the final race in St Louis but I havent ever been to one of these race so I was wondering what the schedule for one of these races was like since they have the monster trucks there to? Like when do the quads start running do they go before or after the trucks or is it all mixed in together?
Any help would be good.

Thanks

In Phoenix they ran the quads in with the trucks....they'd race the quads, then they'd race a truck heat....then quads....then trucks....but I don't know if they will do the same everywhere....

Great Pics Harlen. It was nice meeting you this weekend. I was hoping someone got some pics of me crashing in Heat 1 though.
That was a crazy race and such a good experience for me.
12th overall. It's a good thing I had so much fun!!!

And I was too busy going "oh s***t!" and squeezing my eyes shut to snap any pics.......you ALMOST pulled that off, too - very good "air turning" skills........ ;)

Well I almost pulled it off:D
If I wouldn't have turned my bike sideways like that I'm almost certain I would have killed that dude hitting him straight on. I guess his leg is what flipped my bike.
I Thank God for that One!!!

Was that the wreck over the Triple? I caught a photo of it once it was over, and didn't you get a nice cut on your head?

Jason Ware was the guy who wrecked on the triple (after Jeff Spooner's wreck) - Justin (Shocka400ex) was right behind him and had to twist his quad in mid-air to try to avoid landing on Jason as he was rolling on the ground.....Justin landed sideways, and almost saved it until he ran into Jason's leg - that flipped him over sideways for a nice little get-off........Justin was able to get back up and keep racing, while Jason was helped off the track by the EMT's........Jason is from Tuscon, and he usually races Ocotillo, but he wasn't there on Sunday, so either he got hurt enough to not race or his quad did..........Justin races a black YFZ with K&K graphics.......do you have that pic? Would be cool to see....

I guess Jason was the one taken to the hospital with a fair amount of blood on his face when I saw him, so I am sure he needed stitches from the amount of blood.

Hopefully it wasn't anything too serious.

That was some awesome racing. That was my first pro quad races to see and it was quite the sight. It was kewl the hear Natalie mention ATVriders and Harlen in his victory speech.
