I live in PA and its pretty cold, yesturday it was aroud 10-15 degrees but thats the warmest its been in a month so i thought what the hell ill go for a ride, so went to the garage and did nothin but kick for 15 min. NOTHIN. sweat poorin and pissed went in side for about 15 min. came back out fired right up. So then my buddy tried starting his pred. and he tried and tried and tried until the battery went dead NOTHIN. so I laughed and sayed well, now I dont feel so bad we had to kick the heat on to get his to fire up after charging the battery. needless to say by the time we were done it was about dark and 3 below 0 so nope we did ride at all.

Thats prolly what my problem was them because i pumped it 3 times and had the chock on but when I pumped I gave it full Pumps. ill try the 1/4 throttle deal. Thanks.

try holding the throttle wide open while kicking it. that's how you have to start it when it's flooded. either no throttle, or wide open.

yeah never hold it but you can pump a little gas in the motor then kick if you hold the gas and kick at the sametime your gonna crack your case or shin. When i first got mine i whacked my shin pretty good.

I can't find my manual right now, but I remember reading that it says not to touch the throttle while starting. however if the engine is flooded that you may have to hold it wide open to start it.

do not push the throttle WHILE kicking, but if engine is flooded HOLD throttle wide open and kick, just like the owners manual says. alot of you guys just need to take the time and really read your owners manual, never have any trouble starting mine even when kicking it over while seated.

true you shouldn't hold or pump the throttle when trying to start.

if you flood it and need to clear it out, turn off the ignition open throttle and kick until clear.

to start after clearing flood - turn on ignition remove thumb from throttle and kick.

when really cold and won't start, like mine did this weekend, try to find someone to pull start. that worked for me.

ok come on guys this is exactly how u do it. if it is flooded turn the fuel off and leave the ignition on, kick it a few times to clear the flooded fuel out then turn on the fuel and it will start right up. beleive me i build race engines and know a thing or two about flooded motors.
