can the r's engine be bored to a 265 without a powervalve kit (due to lack on $$$) ? thanks

yes they can, theres probably many kits but all i know is the curtis sparks 265 national kit.

i have a LRD national kit and i am very pleased with the power and the durability.

yes you co go past 265 actually, i think one bore?
but the ower difference between .10 over .20 over .30 over isnt that noticeable so my suggestion to you is if you have a couple mroe bores before 265 USE them dont go straight to a 265 unless you dont care about cylinder sleeve longevity

exactly, if you want to have more power for a decent price, just send you cylinder off to someone that is known to do good port jobs. have them bore your cylinder to the next size and have the porting done. if you dont mind paying for race gas you can also mill the head or get a cool head with a lower dome. when i first put my LRD cylinder together i couldnt start my motor without have my race boots on.
