I saw on here that there was someone looking for a 400ex carb that would support being on alcohol, this got me to thinking...I've never seen a 400 on Alcohol. Has anyone out there seen this before? Who makes that carb? Does the bike run that much better from it?

I have never seen anyone run straight alcohol on a 400ex. That stuff burns to hot and the EX motor isn't set up for that kind of stuff. I run a mixture of 93 octane and racing fuel, it equals out to be about 115 octane but that is as much as i would go. Unless you got the money to buy new engines. Sorry about the lack of info.

alcohol burns cooler and what race gas are you running that gives you a 115 when proportioning. that would be like a 137 octane fuel?? c-12=110, c-14=112

Alky runs cooler, leaner and burns faster. If you're gonna post info post the right info. Sudco makes FCR carbs for alky as well as FTZ and a few others. Ive seen a few Exs on alky including a Sparks 416 that waxed the 4 Stroke Wars, a couple years ago.
