hey, i just finished riding my 2001 400ex and i went the next morning to start it and it doesnt start. the battery is dead from the cold weather but i am running it off a battery charger so when i go to start it the starter works. the quad sounds like it wants to start but just doesnt fire. it fires every now and than but just doesnt stay on. any suggestions. thanks in advanced.

i would try adjusting the idle screw, or upping the pilot jet. also you might want to try turning your fuel screw out 1/2-1 turn.

Check your jetting, if it's getting flooded pull the lid off and check the jetting again. Make sure you have good spark, good gas, etc. If you can have someone pull the quad with another quad (bump starting).

I have a question. You ask what quad to get raptor or a banshee, then all of a sudden you have a raptor thats ported. Do you have a quad? seems kinda odd a excuse for the raptor rider but the ex rider must have been a pro and still lost in your mind.

Obviously you don't get out and ride much..

lumi, like some of the others said put in a new spark plug. If that doesn't fix the problem start another thread, this one is closed.
