let em start by saying that i like naked chicks as much as the next guy, BUT-

having dated a stripper, i would have to say that most of them do not like stripping, and they get sucked into it because of the money, and once you are in it is real tough to get out of. most of them get beaten, raped, and pimped out regularly, as well as being forced to take drugs. alot of the strippers in my area are in pretty poor shape because of this. there is a "mafia-like" quality about inner city stripping, and it is not a pretty site. i feel bad for ANY girl that gets caught up in it.

the chick i went out with (we met at a friends wedding) was raped twice, forced to take heroin and crack, and severely beaten on occasion. she was pimped out by her bosses several times. i didnt know she stripped, and she was very secretive about where she was going all the time, and would disappear for days at a time. finally she broke down crying and told me about it. i tried my best to help her, but she was so afraid for her life to try and leave, that she refused to chance my safety for helping her. to this day she is still stripping, doing drugs, has a illegitimate child, and has been raped more times. wont be long till she is dead probably. she is one of the nicest girls i've ever met, also.

think about that next time you go to a strip club!:ermm:

same way they force them to have sex with the customers. beat them until they do it. if they take the drugs, most likely the stripper goes to jail before the boss gets in trouble if they get caught. they blame everythign on the stripper for being a crackhead and such. its really a crappy game, and unfortunately, there is so much money in it, the cops look the other way.

edit- i see you are from new jersey. if you have been to comlumbus blvd (delaware ave) in philly, you have been to these clubs.

I'll agree with 250rpilot .... some of these girls get caught up in the stripper scene for years and years ... and turn out to get addicted to drugs , get rapped , etc . But a lot of them can't get away from it becuase of the good money involved . I have a cousin that is a stripper , and she can make well over a $1000 a night ... but she is also one of those that has got caught up in the stripper scene and is now a heavy drug user .

But not all strippers get caught in these situation . One of my other cousins dated a stripper for a while . She was from overseas and came to Canada for schooling . Because she couldn't speak English very well , is was hard for her to get a regular job . She turned to stripping , which actually paid for all of her University studies . She got out of it as soon as she was done school . She is one of the nicest and smartest girls I've ever met .... also incredibly HOT !!!!

i live outside of the city, and there is a huge difference between the small strip club in the suburbs and a big place in the city. the city ones are the ones they should stay away from. then again, there is more money in the city. they averaged about 15-2500/night most of the time.

also, if the boss gets them hooked to the drugs, they HAVE to keep working there to be able to afford the drugs. kind of a catch 22.

Its really sad. The money they make, tax free I might add, you would think they could do it for awhile, get a good nest egg and then go to being a normal 9-5'er. Unfortunately, I think all of the mistreatment, and probably low self esteem causes them to turn to drugs. (which is prolly offered by the owners of the clubs because he knows the money they make).:confused:

The money they make is not tax free. It is similar to being a waitress. For example, minimum wage for a tipped employee is $2.12/hour. So you get paid by the hour. Then you "claim" all your tips at night. They take the taxes for your hourly + tips out of your regular paycheck.

Do I know that mistreatment is rampant in this profession? Yes. Do I know that drugs and prostitution and tied into it? Yes. Do I have sympathy for the case in which a girl is truly being taken advantage of? Yes.

Keeping all that in mind, I didn't see one gal there the other night who looked sad or depressed, or expressed guilt about taking the $ from my hands. Maybe they hide it well, but I'm not so sure. Some of these gals make a very good living (well, at least one of 'em made a good living off of me that night!)

I respect all of your folks right to have an opinion on this subject, but respect mine to feel the way I feel, and that is....

Give me a break. Do you realize that you actually contradicted yourself when you said "claim". Your quotations around the word meant that the taxpayer, or stripper in this case, "should" claim their income.... just like waiters, waitresses and many other point of service workers. Don't you work at Hooters? Let say someone tips you $50, because of the great service you provided... don't try to tell me that you have NEVER and I mean NEVER pocketed a great tip or any portion of a tip.

It is required BY LAW to claim 15% of your net sales as tips. At the end of the night (and this goes for every restaraunt I have worked for) you are required to sign a Labor Tip Acknowledgement form that contains your net sales information and tip information. When I used quotations I ment that yes, I do get more than 15% often, but sometimes I actually get less if people are feeling cheap that day.

I have been a waitress since I was 15 (so about ten years) so I think I know a little bit about what I am talking about.

And what does the fact that I work at Hooters have to do with anything?

And I pocket all my tips - as in take them home. All the cash I make that day I take home. They take the taxes out of your paycheck.

I don't know where you are getting your info from much less alot of yalls comments...but for what you do at Hooters and what goes on in Strip Clubs you are making alot less money than you could....

Strippers...Hooters....same thing...tits for money...strippers just take it a little further and rub their knees in your crotch and boobs on your face...BFD. The girls pay the club to dance (usually a $50) because they are independent contractors and the club never sees their money, nor does the IRS unless they are stupid enough to deposit it in a bank everyday.

I have dated enough strippers in my day...when I used to be a big money criminal and could afford to spend alot of time in the clubs(probably enough to buy 4 or 5 loaded YFZs)...I even took some girls on some pretty swanky vacations....yeah they make BIG bucks...probably 75grand a year on the low end 400 top end...but for what they do it would be worth it to me...remember they are the boss in the club, I don't care how much you spend, and they have huge bouncers to back them up. And if you want play you better have wicked good game because they have heard it all....trust me.

AND I don't know any that get pimped or raped...they all make tooo much money to get caught in those traps...and as far as drugs go....what is living large without some excess....

As far as getting trapped in that life...for about the same amount of money I got trapped into the criminal life and loved every freaking minute of it....but the DEA sucks and my $55000 attorney kept me out of jail, so here I am back to being a mortal, or at least thats what image I am trying to keep...

BTW...it can happen to anyone...I was a good lookin white boy who was President of his Fraternity in college and has a BBA, MBA, and an MS in Economics....go figure....

Oh yeah and stippers do rule....you should try it...

Waitressing and stripping are two different things......I've done both (notice the PAST TENSE verbage), so I know what I'm talking about. As a waitress, of course you have to claim your tips every night, and of course you don't claim them all!! LOL!! As a dancer, I paid a house fee every night - that is what we paid to come work in that establishment - I never filled out ANY tax paperwork, nor did the club really care what I took home. The only reason anyone was curious about the money I made each night was the DJ and the Bartender, because I owed them a percentage of my take-home. What I made was between my and my money jar at home........

And strippers come in all types......the smart ones do well and treat it like a good business......(I'm talking about the high-end strippers).......I worked at a low-mileage, high-end club (meaning VERY little contact) in a great part of town.....the girls I worked with were very happy with their jobs.....some were married, most had boyfriends.......a few were screwed up, but that's normal at any restaurant I've ever worked at as well......most strippers have a GOOD self esteem - you would need it to get up on stage 3 times an hour! Some of the nastier clubs.....well....yeah....I think those girls have issues......:huh

So......hoorah for strippers, too!! ;) Hoorah for Hooter's girls, and Budweiser girls and Alba girls and Calendar girls.....and all the hot women out there that make this world a prettier place for our men!!! :) :D

Thanks Niki .... the nearest one would be Barrie .... 3 hours away . :( I'f I ever won $$ , I'd add Sudbury to that list . :p

Next time I'm in Barrie I'll have to go check it out ( didn't know they had one:confused: ) .... Before my lil injury I was in Barrie every 2nd weekend . :p

Relax Francis....I didn't say you weren't classy....DID I....read it again. I just said that most waitresses especially Hooters waitresses think that they are a step above strippers when they are actually doing the same thing and making alot less money. I have met many intelligent classy Hooters girls and strippers that I wouldn't mind bringing home to mom....
