go to lukesracing.com and they sell a JE 13:1 95mm kit which is a 450 for your kfx or z. They sell them on ebay. I bought one for $400 and they core change was a minus $200. so it would have been a $200 kit. But my shop already had my Athena 435 kit. The Athena kit is probably the most reliable. They claim the same or better than stock.

woodward specialties sells the athena for 600, and the lukes racing kit I think the total is 400 plus the 200 for the core that they refund when you send yours in.

Check out Max-Power. They sell a 455 Rocket kit. I just had one put in my wifes z, and it has a ton of torque! I can't wait to get it broken in a little more so I can really hammer it. They have a website you can check out. Max-power.com i think, or something like that. I think I paid 1100? I pulled the motor and dropped it off at my engine builders place. He replaced the cam chain while it was apart, you know those like to wear out. So, for the kit and labor and cam chain, $1100. Incredible power increase.

Does Athena make a little bit larger kit? Or do you think the 435 is enough and how reliable is it? And where do you get the most respose from with the 435 kit.
thanx

You wont notice a difference in power from 435 to 440 and really not a huge difference from 435 to 450 and the athena kit is a lot more reliable and cheaper than most.

If your going to do motor work,
Spend the extra cash to get it done right the first time.
You get what you pay for.
Just what I think.

there is no need for 450 kit. If you know how to ride you should still be beating 450s.

You have to be a better rider than the guy on the 450 to win

I thought what you thought until I raced someone that could actually ride there 450 and it is hard to hang when you get dusted on the straight aways.

My brother has a Yoshi 450 and Athena 434 ported by Dab racing.. Loren Duncan called Dab racing because, his YFZ's in Oregon were getting beat by Dabs 434's.. My brother also owned a Trinity 440. That thing was a dog compared to the other two.. You want a YFZ beater, send your motor to Dab racing in Layton, Utah.... Dab racing is where Kim Muchmoore got started, for those that don't know that name, he is K&T and the maker of Crankenstein.........
