After every ride..especially if you are in sand.

The more often you wash it the easier it is to wash it. I wash mine after every ride, thoroughly cause I hate my stuff to look crappy, plus when the rare occasion arises that I have to work on it, I dont have to scrape off tons of burnt on mud and crud.

I like wasting water myself. I take mine to the car wash and wipe it down with honda pro cleaner/polish after every ride. I take better care of my fourwheeler than I do my girlfriend.

man i wash mine constabtly if im bored and its nice out and im not riding ill get a damp cloth and start detailing it for something to do, tell you what if you know anybody who works for youre local waste management the guys there have this bad *** soap that they use to wash the garbage trucks with! my neighbor is the senior guy at our local one and he gets me these five gallon buckets of the stuff and you talk about a miracle cure this stuff is great you wet down youre quad get all the thick crap off soak it down with a spray bottle of this stuff and five min. later with no scrubbing it all comes clean! truly great stuff! and another great *** thing to get is this stuff called ZAP at wal-mart its with all the formula 409's and crap get ya some dilute it into a gallon or two of water and use that like the other stuff if ya dpont know anyone its awesome as well!

I use Castrol Super Clean , Got it from Wal-Mart , works real good . It comes in a Gallon jug with a little bootle for spraying on. You don't want to leave it too long on aluminum though ,it will tarnish if left too long, after dry I saturate everything with wd-40 ,motor and all ,it will just smoke like crazy for a while ,but it does a good job in cracks and crevices keeping out water and moisture. Here is their website (http://wd-40.com/)

Yes you can use them on shocks , it is good for everything, WD stands for water dissapator , 40 stands for for 40 trys to get the formula right. ,spray some on your frame ,wipe off leaving a real light coat ,then spray water and watch the water run like a 400ex!!!!
