Head Gasket

Has anyone had their head gasket replaced at a local dealer? If so how much did it cost you? I'm trying to find out how much the dealer is going to charge me(average)Thanks

Changing a head gasket is not something you should take your bike to the dealer for. You should be able to do that yourself with minimal effort. If you do decide to take it to a dealer, then figure this... The going rate for shop labor right now is around 50-60 bucks an hour. Figure theyre gonna charge you at least 2 hours, and then the gasket costs around 25-30 youd be lookin at around 150 dollars Id say minimum. Or you can spend the 25-30 bucks, do it yourself and save a ton... Get a clymers manual if you want to as well to make it easy and other than that youll need some basic tools and a torque wrench and thats it...
