man that is UGLY! But from what I can see you got a pretty clean 250r. What kind of coolant hose is that?

oh man, i think my nuts just receded back up into my abdomen.
I see the rist pin, needle bearing, part of the connecting rod, and something else there....part of the piston's skirt maybe. have you opened the cases yet? hows the cylinder?

Ouch! That big chunk on the side looks like part of the cylinder.

A little JB weld here and there, you'll be fine.

At a first glance I thought I was going to be able to atleast reuse the piston but after taking some measurments I found that I would have to replace that too haha. The cylinder is done for also the rod knocked out the divider in the exhaust port. The cases are ok other then a few knicks from debris getting caught between them and the crank. I ordered a new 370 cylinder kit and stroker crank from ESR today so hopefully it should be running again soon.

That wont be that expensive to fix, these days you can get a complete Power Valved R motor for like 1500 cash money, thats the main reason i am switching back to the 250R. I will pride myself being the only 250R sitting on the NEATV and national Pro-am gates.

If your gonna do it, do it right...This is a result of a flying shift fork that came from the big shaft off my clutch into my tranny breaking.

Ya it was WFO when she let go it was just getting up on band. Parts were on the porch yesterday, they forgot to send me the piston though so I'll have to wait til monday to give them a call. No big deal though cause I'm polishing the ouside of the cylinder and it's taking forever. Any polishing tips? I'm using one of those small 180 grit sandpaper wheels that you put in a die grinder to take the rough off then sanding it by hand with 180 to smooth the surface cause the sandpaper wheel leaves little depressions. I got about half of it smoothed out today but just wondering if there's an easier way besides having someone else do it haha.

Yea that happens to the CT racing big bores a lot. Was that a wiesco piston or a pro-x. Don't EVER waste your money on pro-x pistons. They are just a bunch of junk.

are you kidding?

the pro x pistons are awesome. if they made them for big bores i'd use them over the weiscos

and if the pro x pistons are a bunch of junk, I GUESS all the OEM manufacturers use JUNK!, art makes pro x and honda and yamaha pistons.;)

That is what is left of a wiesco piston. It's pretty much impossible to tell what was the cause of the destruction. There was some pieces of piston in the exhaust so that would lead me to believe that it wasn't a rod or the wrist pin snapping. Oh well it's back together now finally.

Pro-x has been good to me thus far. Maybe your cylinder needs to be checked or the bottom end is sloppy???

That really is no joke. My buddie's newly-rebuilt 265 with a Niks Pro-X piston lasted him all but 2 weeks until it exploded into a million pieces destroying his side case .
