All I done was hook up my 1394 cord to my Camcorder then it will Automatically prompt a box for Win movie make and I click on it and thats all there is to it!!! Once your in Windows it will ask you how/what you want to do , I run my camcorder and click "start and stop" for each shot I want to film, then drop and drag into the box where you put the picutre slide ,then right below that is where you put your music

To transfer movies files to your computer you need exactly what Quadjunkies said.Your computer needs to have an available iee1394 port, also known as a "Firewire" port, and a Firewire cable.I've never tried it,but i don't think a usb cable is even large enough to transfer the video files,so you will probably have to use Firewire or a equivilant 1394 cable.

Just plug a 1394/Firewire cable into an available 1394 port on your computer and to your camcorder and then set your camcorder to either file transfer or computer. If you have Windows xp it should prompt you to either use Windows movie maker or whatever other digital editing software you may be using. I use Intervideo Win DVD Creator which is only a little better than Windows movie maker.
