What should i do?

should i sell my blaster in the spring and get a cheap R around 2 or 3 thousand or keep the blaster for right now and get a real nice R in a couple years?

Good plan either way. The R has far more potential than your Blaster. Even a relatively stock R should outrun a modded Blaster. Depends if you want to build it up yourself or buy one race ready. I'm not a patient person, and I like to work on stuff, so I'd lean toward getting one now... but may be a different story for you.

How old are you? Im 13 and sold my 300ex and bought an 89 250R with my own dollar. Ive put about 1K in the bike and when im 16 and know i can go riding i will get an esr powervalve. so id say get an R right now and put some money into it

I have 3 boys and made them all start on lt'80 then move to a blaster before going to a 250r. The blaster is a great intermediate learning bike and I would not let them move up until they were getting the absolute most they could from the blaster. The blaster will force you to learn to shift based on engine speed and torque.

If your ready to move up go for it if the money is available, but don't hesitate to stay with the blaster a little longer if your not ready.
