I'm looking for some new handlebars since I bent my renthals when I broke two ribs about 4 months ago...but they guy who had the 400ex before me had bike bars on there...I like the look of the Tags...think they look better without the crossbar...anyway..was wondering if any of you had any experience with them? if so how do you like them?

Thanks in Advance,
Jeffrey

no problems from mine! the fat bars are the ones w/o a crossbar pad, so you will need fat bar adapters if you dont already have them. you can get them from any company that you buy the bars from. just tell them you need the adapters and which steering stem you have (stock or aftermarket)

Chaparral has the kit for $199 but all they have in stock right now is Gold...so probably go thru Rocky Mountain for $206.99...unless someone can tell me of another place...

Rocky Mountain should be able to match that price, no problem. :)

You should look into the trail tech fat bars and clamp. Really good stuff at a really good price.

DOES THE FAT BARS TAKE THE JOLTS OUT OF THE RIDE?
THE FLEX BAR HAS DIFFERENT BUSCHINGS TO ADJUST FOR THE RIDER CONTROL.

You don't need the kit unless you want to retain the stock key switch and neutral light location. Just buy the CR high kit with the adaptors. Should only be around $129.

their are many options for fat bar clamps we have used the moose univeral mnt for $36 and we have also used the trail tech clamp which I believe is $70 or like you say we sell the tagbars, pad, and tag mnt for $200.

they all serve the same purpose just different looks and price :D

I've got Tag T2 CR Hi bars on my EX and I love them. I rolled my quad down a hill the first week I had it and stockers were toast. I think I got the whole kit (bars, pad and mounts) from Golden West Cycle for under $200, but this was a few years ago too.

I definately recommend the Tag bars. They've held up great and look trick too.

I have a question. I have a set of tag x5 bars and i was wondering if i take the bar in the middle off that goes from 1 side of the bar from the other off will it urt anything. Make them weaker, etc. Im just wondering cause i feel my quad would look better with the cross bar pad that goes around the clamps you know were it connects to the stem. :)

Do not remove the crossbar. Your X5's are 7/8" bars and were designed to be use with the crossbar. They will be too weak and may bend if you take it off.

I went from Tag X5's in the SX bend to the Tag T2's in the SX bend and I saw a huge improvement in impact absorption off of jumps. If you think about it, with the cross bar not being there anymore, the bars are able to flex down more when you land. The X5's were awesome bars too, but they just seemed a lot more stiff than the fat bars.

How does the SX bend compare to Cr HI Bend?? Any input??

The specs on the CR High bend are: 795-width x 95-height x 62-sweep. The SX bend is: 802-width x 99-height x 54-sweep. I like the SX bend much better because its wider width gives you more leverage to throw the quad around easier, its just a bit taller than the CR High bend, and its not as swept back for aggressive riding. The bends are very similar, but the SX just feels more comfortable and more fitting to my style of riding, and that is what is most important.

Get the tag t2 I have them on all of my quads. You can get the bars for $98 and fat bar mounts for $35. I have a set of the chrome bars and they chip real easy go with a colored bar.
