i have just installed my 11:1 high comp piston and stage 2 hotcam. i had my bike jetted right before i installed them but after it is sputtering a little bit right when i get into it, probably 1/8 to 1/4 throttle. Then after that it goes alright. It doesn't do it in neutral but just when i am riding.

11:1 high comp piston
stage 2 hotcam
k and n filter
stock pipe with no spark arrester
165 main jet
air screw 3.5 turns out
i think thats it

you need a bigger pilot jet i did same mods except i have a stage 1 and I'm up to a 45 pilot and a 160 main in the 0 degree temp and it runs awesome

Oh I just noticed your also running a stock pipe, i have a slip-on. You should look into at least a slip on for that thing, I dont see how your getting any power out of it.

A couple of things...

I have the same exact mods except for I have a slip-on also, and I would suggest at least a 42 pilot jet. Also, I would suggest dropping the needle clip one position to richen that up a little also, so that you are one slot up from the bottom of the needle clip slots. Also, if you are using Keihin jets, 165 main seems a little on the rich side for your other mods. Have you checked the plug to see what it looks like? How does it run full tilt? Any hesitation?

I want to get the high comp piston and a hotcam. How much did that cost you? Did you put it in yourself? Or did you bring it some where?

As for me, I got my stuff off of magicracing.com, coulda been cheaper somewhere else, but have had good luck with them. I put the stuff in myself, took about 3-4 hours taking my time. My brother helped me put them in. I thought it was straightforward, but that is just me.

It was just about $250 with piston, cam, and gasket set if memory serves me correctly.

dude you need to spend some more money and buy at least a slip on, you wont be getting very much power out of that setup...
You are going to have trouble jetting that thing with the stock pipe, you are producing more power, in which the motor is sucking in more air and wants to push more air out and it cant do that with the stock restricting pipe...just my .02?

I agree. Seems foolish to spend that kind of money in motor work and then not even pop for a pipe.

well went to the honda shop and ordered a 42 pilot. i was already planning to get a full system but dont have the $$$ right now. the only reason i put in the piston and cam first was cause i got it for christmas.

as far as the parts it costed i think $240 from rockymountainatv.com and took about 3.5-4 hours to put in myself
