i know this question has probablly been asked a million times but is there a 415 or 425 kit available for a z/kfx? im going to be getting one soon and i plan on making a little faster after a while to keep up with my friends 450 a little better. i know there is a 450 kit available but i think that would be a little much for me.

you can tell what size the cylinder is going to be by what piston you get, i mean you can buy a certain size piston and get your cylinder bored and nikasiled by a shop to fi the piston

90mm= stock bore
92mm=416cc
94mm=434cc
94.5mm=439cc
etc.

I agree with you just get a piston and bore it out to that
Sorry, but i see no purpose in getting a 416 or 415 kit, i don' think there would be that much of a difference from stock.
But who knows?, maybe im wrong

More than likely he will also be raising the compression so he will notice a gain.

Athena makes a 435 kit. You get a brand new head (you don't swap yours out) for a little over $600.

It's also solid and not a sleeve.

One of the sponsors on the www.Z400central.com site sells them.

Site is down for some reason right now but should be back up soon.

just get a wiseco 440 kit it comes with a sleeve and a piston and that will boost you a little bit. its like $300 or you could just get a high compression 90mm piston and cams and that will get it done

i just got a JE 94mm and had my cylinder bored out and nickel plated.

when you bore out an engine to a higher cc and all that, does it mess with the reliability of it, or jsut take a little extra care?

You get a new jug not a new head.

if you stay with stock valves and get heavy springs and low compression it will be plenty reliable

Actually you're right I mis-spoke. You get a new cylinder.
