Gearcase oil

I was wondering if anyone recommends any certain type of oil for a banshee gearcase? I had a buddy of mine tell me he had the best luck with automatic transmission fluid. I put Castrol 10W40 in it and it seems to slip a little bit. Any help will be appriciated.
