is this bad??

the last few times ive been riding (300ex) i go to shift into 5th and it wont do anything....it just stays in 4th....but if i shift into 3rd and the shift up to times it works....whats happenng with it?

there is alot of possibilites, lookat the clutch first and look at it. Then i guess from there your gonna have to split the crank and find out whats wrong. There is shift forks and gears that maybe aren't working properly. I just got done checking mine out and now i am putting it together. Good Luck Hopefully it isnt too serious.
