what transfer case? they came with several different ones in the 70's and your's may have a swap, make sure you check, all 350's arent interchangeable

thats true. he will will still be able to use it regardles of what transfer case he has now, i would guess that he has a np208 unless someone put a np205 in there at some point, the np203 was usually used on full time 4x4's that dont have manual lockin hubs, the np205 usually came factory in 3/4 and 1 tons. if the tail housing splines dont match up to the the transfer case that you have, you can either swap the tail housing from the old tranny to the new one, which will be a pain in the arse since you have to disassemble the tranny to do it, or you can buy an adaptor for it which will be a bolt on fix.
i know he has to have one of the three in there, either a np208,205, or 203.

I have the manual lockouts on it, the guy that I bought it from said that it has been modified because it used to be all time 4wd, does that help any? I will try to call him and find out what kind is in it, if the Blazer was here I would crawl under it and check the tag.

That would make the t-case a New Process 203. Thay also came with the 205 but is was not full time 4wd.

He said to make him an offer. The tranny and t-case are good, we just retired the truck because a spring hanger rusted off the frame. it also had lockouts and the part time conversion. Do you need just the tranny or both tranny and t-case?

The 208 has an aluminum case where the 203 and 205 are cast iron I believe. That may help you narrow it down a little.

I dought it has a NP 203 in it, and i bet money it doesn't have a strong NP 205, I have a NP205 in my truck and its a 77 F-250, a Blazer wouldn't need a NP203, they were bigger back then but they wouldn't need that strong of a transfer case, although a NP203 is full time 4-wheel drive, unless you buy the kit that makes it selectional

The 70's chevy trucks came with either the 203 or the 205 wehter it was a 1/2, 3/4, or 1 ton. Thay all had the stronger t-cases. My dads '79 K1500 came stock with the 203 which he switched over to part time. so i would have to say the blazer came with the 203 as well.

Thanks underpowered, mine is set up the same way, it is the 203 transfer case with the kit so I can put it in 2wd, high and low. I will send you a pm about the price and picking it up, Thanks! I just need the tranmission, thats all my little jeep could haul anyways!:D

Turbo 350s are one of the most common types of transmissons ever made. They were used in like everything a few years ago. I don't think you will have a difficult time finding one.

Too bad you don't live any closer ..... I got 3 of them sitting in the garage collecting dust . My dad's been on a rampage giving chit away . 2 350 Chevy blocks left the garage the other day at no price ... along with a few rear ends ...and a powerglide transmission .

Dude we got so much chit in our garage and 2 sheds , we don't know where to put things anymore . So when that happens , my dad does a major clean-up and give away . I've had a few friends benefit from transmissions and complete running motors . Usually they'll bring my dad over a case of beer ( which I usually end up drinking ) :p

In one of my sheds right now , we have a complete set of Mickey Thompson drag slicks mounted on Centerlines ... they'll just sit there until we buy another drag car or decide to build one again . This stuff never goes to waste ... always someone that can use it . :)

I got a set of brand new triple pipes off of a 96 Ski-Doo Formula 3 if anyone needs a set. :ermm:

have you looked for one lately. I have and there aren't as many around as you would think. I had one go out in my 77 and I really had a hard time finding a replacement for it.
