I will be buying and racing(mx) a 250r this summer, and want to be competetive.

When I buy a 250r, Ill pry have to do some mods on it to make it full race.

My question is, what is, in your opinion, the best products?

1. Lrd 265 Powervalve or Curtis Sparks 265 National Kit?

Right now its a toss-up for me. With the Lrd I get a powervalve and with the sparks, its already ported by curtis himself.

2. Lrd Mx Pipe or Curtis Sparks Mx pipe(do they make one?)

3. Lrd Silencer or Curtis Sparks Silencer?

What other mods are a must for racing besides: axle, a-arms, shocks, and a killswitch?

I'm doing the same thing as you. I've been building a 250r race quad this winter to race this summer. I've been wondering the same thing.....

this is what I have so far...

CT 265 ported and polished
msd ignition
lonestar +2+1 a-arms
laegers steering stem
ohlins all around
lonestar +4 axle

I guess I'll find out how competitive I'll be when the first race is over.......I still have alot of things to add yet.....

I would go with the 265 power valve if I had the cash.

Why are TT pipes good for mx?

I thought TT pipe add lots of top end and in Mx you want low and mid range power.

if the port job is done a certain way the TT will still give bottom end and scream on top ;)

I have the LRD adjustable pipe and silencer and I think it's overrated. I would rather have either the sparks mx pipe or an ESR trx5 pipe.

you should check out ESR for the cylinder and porting. They do very good work. plus top notch service if you ever have a problem.

Sparks-MX or TT Like Bee said the TT pipe works well if the porting is right.I have the MX and actully cant tell much diff between it and the TT.Sparks is also the best looking IMO.
