What is a benifit of the 14 tooth sprocket? shouldi i swich?

You'll pick up a lot more bottom end with the 14t sprocket, and you'll loose a little off of your top speed (I think about 3 MPH). I use the 14t at the dunes, I think it's a bit too low for XC-type riding. If you do a lot of seriour hill climbing, it might be the way to go. With the 14t, you can usually skip 1st altogether & start in 2nd.

In my opinion, the 14 tooth does nothing but steal power in your top band. I tried it and I am actually dissapointed with the results. Granted, it will benefit those who race utilizing the short power band skills on short courses. But in regards to an all-around fully functioning machine, I would have to say that the 14 tooth will actually keep you down. Keep the darn sprocket for dune riding or racing but, at the same time, everyone knows that a good rider keeps a good variety of multi toothed sprokets in his/her toolbox............. just in case!!! ;)

the only thing i have found it to be good for is 300 foot drag races!!
