When I bought my R, the plastics had a little hole melted in them from where the pipe comes close. I wish I coulda put some heat tape on it or somethin, but the damage was already done. Is there any way to somewhat fix this, or cover is up somehow? Its not a big deal, just a little ugly. Thanks.

you can use an extra pipe-joint seal as an insulator, just slide in place where the plastics rub/burn

or just use an insulator from a 4stroke pipe-joint seal like I did, its been on there for 3 yrs(as you can see haha) and no burn holes yet, the hose clamp just keeps it from sliding around
:D (sorry for the dirty pic:o :p )

The plastic is already melted, that wouldn't help. I'm just looking for ideas on how to cover it up/fix it. Thanks though.
