Drill hole, Buy Uni-Filter plugs (six-pack at a time), spread light layer of silicone to outer edge, press into hole you just drilled, let dry...eat left over silicone....mmmmmmmmm good! J/K (for all of the Polish folks here)

On a serious note, I used a uni-bit on a drill press and it was a breeze! All you have to do is make sure you have a 1" bit and you're done!

Would this be something that I could do even though I ride in semi-muddy condition (meaning that I run it to mud a few times during my ride, and the quad gets pretty dirty, they mostly are water, and it never gets above the bottom of the frame), but would it be a good idea to put these holes in my airbox even though there might be a chance of water getting into them, or would i be all set?

Yeah, my quad is so young, it's hard to keep it's complexion under control.

Before too long it should mature into an adult and get rid of all of these blemishes!

Kids!

Your air box has a drain-plug for most heavy water accumulation to exit the airbox.

Although these filters have a foam barrier that prevents most "splash-down" type of water infiltration, I would have to say that if you run the risk of submersion, leave the airbox sealed and look into a snorkle!

If you are confident that you will only "Half-Frame" it, I would say that these plugs are a better alternative than cutting a raw hole in your airbox!

Any more ????

i ran those plugs in my air box before cutting it completely open and using a outerwears airbox lid. They don't do jack. They flow very little air if any and as soon as you hit the trail, dust, dirt, etc. just clog them up real quick. that's my experience anyway.

I agree with Holty..... those holes may help initially but in reality you need to go ahead and cut a big hole and use an outerware. With a k&n and proper jetting, its been my experience that the little holes just aren't enough.

I have 12 of them in mine!

Don't worry about it, they were free! Any way if you lived in AZ you would see the fine dust that gets into everything. Cutting a hole in your box in Pennsylvania may work but, in AZ, that doesn't fly! :D
