there's people who have PC'd frames. but you need to bake it at a lower temp so the aluminum doesn't loose it's temper. and it's still up in the air if the pc'd frames hold in more heat????

The look of an aluminum frame is too good to paint, although many have polsihed them. Im sure mine will be before long.

The polished frame looks really good. Just remember, it takes a lot of work to get it like that and it takes even more work to keep it looking like that.

Jess, Im trying to hold myself back, I already polished my swinger while it was off, I dont really think I will ever do the frame, or the whole frame at that,,,,maybe the spars, As of now I have only polised my swinger and my HMF. I hope I can get over my polishing epidemic!

I took the stupid stickers off lol. Ive got it spread all over one corner of the shop now. Parts will be here by friday but Ive got other work to do. 2 or 3 more weeks mabe. :D

Heres the project I sent to timbo on cannondaler riders. Nice touch of blue there on the rod huh? lol I can't believe the shavings these things throw once the bearing is gone! Got a "chunk" stuck between the case and the ballance shaft that made a little mess.

Oh we have all the hondas. The 450r and the 250r dont get much seat time . I bet the 450r has less than 4 tanks of gas through it in the last year since the fx400 was aqiured. Its still in mint condition. The 250r comes out of the shed once in a while to keep the engine lubed. Gotta love the old 2 stroke.
As far as power the 450r doesnt have the low or top end of any of the Dales but midrange is about the same. We should do a test session article and put all the quads up against each other . One of the guys has a yfz now so we can throw that into the mix to. Sounds like a summer project.

The one on the far right is mine!!! Wooot!!! LOL Im so happy to finally have one, going riding on Sunday or Monday, will be her first full day of riding with me! Cant wait!!!

Your gonna have fun!!!!!!........i rememebr the first ride on my dale......it was a trail ride were the last time i rode those trails...was on a stock 400ex...and i then rode my elka equipped, extensded....mx dale on those trails...wowwy......it was like i didnt want it too end.

Well I was looking at making a kit with a plastic gas tank.. but can't get enough people behind it...cause it is going to cost around 700 - 1k for tooling...

Next step I am looking at using the stock gas tank, not moving the gas tank just work out a work around

durring this whole long process I purchased a house.. which have tied up my funds...

so right now I am trying to mod the stock sub-frame and 250R seat pan for the kit to work.. slow progress I can keep you posted

How about cutting our stock tanks in like half...and plastic welding a new end on????...this would be cheaper...and more efficient..and keep teh price down...cause many dalers cant afford another grand after rebuilding their motors...like me. :p

Yeah..everytime i remeber you and derno got your quads stolen...i get mad. You need me around...im good at finding things...i found my friends stolen bike, his friends video tapes....and also someone's car. And when i found out who stole the stuff.....i went to there house and kinda as friendly as possible forced them to give the stuff back.
I hate thiefs...thats why i put noisy stuff were important things are....and i tell neighbors to call teh police if they here the noisy stuff when im gone.

(hint.....theres this small buzzer alarm you can get...cheap...that works with a pin.....and you hide the buzzer outside were it cant be seen......and when someone opens the door besides you...they wont know tis there..and the pin gets pulled...activating a extremely loud high pitch buzzing sound that doesnt stop until the pin is put back in......that discourages thiefs..trust me)

here's a pic of my son's quad i built for him from scratch. it started as a new 02 400ex. sold the motor and installed a cr250 (1998). the 400ex frame cracked so bad i had to scrap it a fabricate a whole new chassis. the only original honda 400ex parts on this quad is the tank and the front spindles. i made the frame,steering stem,a-arms,swing arm, pegs, rubber motor mounts,sub-frame. i used a 450r radiator and the AC parts i bought off ebay dirt cheap. it has axius LT front shocks, ohlins rear, RPM axle and all the typical bells and whistles. as you can see, i made it to sit low and mean. my boy says it handles great and the motor is one of mine from when i raced micro-sprints. stroker crank, ESR ported jug, my own design head, v-force cage, 01 ignition, 250r FMF pipe with my design exhaust that exits center of the quad. weighs 296 lbs. dry and is insane.

i forgot to mention on the quad i built, the front and rear suspension can be raised and lowered by loosening one bolt at each shock and moving a slider up or down. it has a range of 5" of travel to raise the entire quad(or lower it). i did this so it can be used on a flat track or TT or MX or whatever. i built this machine in 3 months from 33' of tubing and the total material cost was less then $300. if i built another, i would make jigs and make 5 at a time to lower cost's even more. i would sell these for about$1500 a piece with a-arms and swing arm and steering stem. if you guys only knew how easy it is.....
