k and n clenaing question

Well i clean my k and n it with the recharger kit but i was wondering instead of using the cleaner in the recharger kit could i just use simple green.

I personally wouldn't try it because the cotton gauze filter medium needs to be kept in pristine condition in order for the filter to work properly. This is why K&N warns not to used compressed air or heat to clean the filter. The Simple Green may or may not harm the filter element depending on the concentration you use, so unless other cleaners are approved by K&N, it isn't worth the risk IMO.

Warm water and soap work great.Just fill up the sink and let it sit,then rinse.

Rinse from the inside out. Simple Green also works well, have used it for years with no harm. Spray it on, let it sit for a while, then rinse with as hot of water as your hands can stand.
