Well, went out and tested the ice today, it was over 5 inches everywhere, except of course 30 feet from my backyard,,,, me and the bike went under, the worst expieriance ever, the pic is of the aftermath, thats where we dragged it out from, it really sucked seeing my 450 with just the tires sticking out of the water, it actually rolled over and the air in the tires stopped it from sinking,,,,, I drained all the fluids and have a heater on it all night, tommorow I'm gonna take the carb off and deal with that,,,, Just be careful guys, like they say " there is no safe ice" unless your at a rink

I would drain the oil a bunch of times, put a dry filter on it and get it running. Me and some buddies had a 300ex go for a dip one day and we had it running 30 mins after it happened. That sucks man, but I'd say the sonner you get it running the better.

Ouch ... that blows . Drain your oil about 3 or 4 times .

It only takes about 4 inches for a person to be supported on the ice ... and about 7 to 9 before a car or truck can get out there . That 5 inches would support your quad , but once you start moving , the ice starts to "wave" which then leads to breaking through .

I've seen this happen before . About 7 years ago , our town decided to plow a drag strip on the ice for our winter carnival so that the sleds could race . Well being the idiots that they are , they sent out a snow plow truck ( big dump truck) loaded with sand in the back . Everyone watched as he was plowing , and the ice started to wave cuz of the weight . Sure enough , the ice cracked and the truck was submerged in about 8 feet of water .

Oh man did they get chit for that one . Insurance companies don't cover you if you are on a frozen lake ... they needed to call in a crane company to lift this truck out , which was loaded with tons of sand ... plus they got fined from our Ministry of Environment for polluting the lake with diesel and other oils . It ended up costing our town over a million after all the fines and crane dues were paid . Someone got fired over this one . :blah:

Well, good news is it still has spark, and everything turns over fine, I'm going to get some fresh fuel now and try to fire it up,,, Keep your fingers crossed, lol ,,, You gotta love honda, the damn thing was underwater for over an hour and the lights still come on when kicking it over

Make sure you flush out everything, and keep it somewhere warm for the next few days to completly dry out. You should take off your plastics, and give it a complete look over, change oil 3-4 times, drain fuel from tank, lines, carb, etc. And remove the rad, and drain all the rad fluid too. Pretty much change all fluids, since everything got water in it.

Well, finally started it today, had to change the oil 5 times for it to come out clean,,,,, But she's running great now. Tommorow I'll put the plastics back on and actually drive it,,,,,
