which quad

If you were a 16 y/o like me, about to buy a truck then get a quad, which quad would u get. I like to ride trails mainly, but ive never owned a quad, and yes i know how to work a clutch. So which should i get a 400ex, or a z400? the 400ex is cheaper and all but u have to admit, its gettin outdated and the Z is a tad quicker and i like the looks of the z better. but 400ex's are dirt cheap...so which way should i go?
and when i get one, should i buy new so i can make a monthly payment, which i can easily make cuz i make a minmum of $450 a month, otherwise i would have to save up for a long time and buy used.

If your buying used.. I would go with the 400ex, because ive seen some amazing deals on them... Just be a patient shopper.. If your buying it new.. you might be better off with the Z...

i know the 400ex is know for good handleing and all, so hows the Z400's handleing on trails, how reliable is it, and are parts for them more expensive then for the EX?

i want to buy new, which is prob a dumb idea, but the reason i want to buy a new one is because no one has been tearin it up and stuff and i know what the quad has been through, but mainly, its because i dont have to wait a year to get enough cash saved up to buy a used one, i can just make monthly payments, and get it now.

im running in the same exaclt boat as we speek i sold my 300 so i could get a descent truck and im hoping to have another quad within at the most of 8 months.



400 all the way or if you could find a z with lots of mods and cheaper than a 400 do it. its all preference when it comes to thos 2 quads

well i havent ridden either, so idk which would fit me better, but i like the feel of the Z, cuz i sat on one at the great outdoor show. I got so excited when i saw the atv test ride track and it was suzuki quads, they had z400's and i ran over to ask how old u have to be to ride.........they said 18, and im 16.....AHHHH:mad: :mad: , i thought i was gonna kill someone. Oh well

are they any years of the z400 i should stay away from? like the way the 01 raptor is.
are the frame problems a big issue on the older ones?

I have riden both and own the 400ex, you can't go wrong w/ the Honda but the z is a little faster.

i have ridden both and own the 400ex but they both are great all around quads. ide go with z because theyre way more parts for them and u can do way more with them:D

i think id have to say wrongo, the ex has been around longer and is probablly a little more popular. i dont know about parts but since the ex has been out longer id say parts are a little more available and cheeper since the 450r is out now too.
