sup guyz... the other day i decided during a ride on my quad i'd let him try a hand at the controls.. well he did good, all with the exception that he couldnt reach the shifter, rear break, or pull in the clutch. so i was thinking maybe keep him in the honda family and get a 250ex.. but im not sure so im asking for advise, if all goes well i'll be looking for the quad in Feb. definitly a 4 stroke and automatic..
post your thoughts.

thanks

hey well i have a 2003 300ex barley ridin with very little mods. i have nothing done to the engine. all other stuff is for protection like nerfs, new wheels(so it wont tip over) hand guards. i am asking 3200 for the quad. excellent condition. PM me for more details. looking for a z400.

doesn't sound bad at all.. but im concerned with the size of the frame.. does the 300 sit like a 400.. his legs are not that long:D

I've got a 9 year old riding a blaster. I have to start if for him most of the time other than that he does pretty good and gettting better every day. I think the 250ex wopuld be better because of the starter, reverse and four stroke. I think the are about the same size.

so your saying the blaster and 250ex are about the same size?? i dont think that would be too bad.

I think they are but not positive. I would go to your local Honda dealership and see if they have a 250ex so you can see first hand. I haven't seen them side by side. I was looking to get a 80-100cc but I am sure glad I didn't because I would be trying to find a bigger one next year.

the 300 sits about the same?? well hopefully only 2 more weeks possibly 3 before i have so $$ to kick around. although im kinda looking for something around $1000 maybe a lil more. i dont think he's really gonna care if its a '98 or up.

ahh it needs to be a automatic.. dont want to push the clutch on him to early.. when he's ready to learn clutch i'll let him try it on the 400 first before i buy him his own manual.

he's 6.. i started riding at 7, only it was dirtbike not a quad. i'd like him to start as early as possible.. i do have a lil 50 with training wheels. but he found a way to flip it anyway. so he's a lil scetched about riding that again.

I have 250x I would be willing to sell. I'm looking for a 400ex so I need more power! It has several extra's, an 89' I believe, very strong engine and pretty decent condition, and I would be willing to sell it for $2100 negotiable! It was my first quad and I needed more power thanks. This is a very good starter quad!!!

Yfzrider my son is 6 I just bought him a trx90 as well, that is a perfect beginner machine imo... Fourstroke, has to learn to shift he will like it and so will you. But I have to warn you the suspension is awful it is rated for someone who weighs 3 times his weight. I am looking for a upgrade already. I am not a person who has to hop-up everything he truely needs something done with the shocks for safety reasons. Hope this helps.......
