We're leaning towards the StageII HotCam or Sparks Cam since they are a mid-range - topend cam which would work great for MX and the Dunes. I'm not sure just yet.....

Sheesh. That thing is sweet. I picked my black 450 up from Dan (Stillwater) this past Sunday at Nocona. It rips all stock! You race TQRA?

Yeah, thats where I got my 450R from is Honda of Stillwater. Dan is a really good guy, he takes care of us local MX guys. Yeah I race TQRA. I'm in college right now so I dont have the $$$ to travel to Texas for the Winter TQRAs. I'll be doing the Stillwater Winter TQRA adn then plan on doing the full TQRA season this summer when I get my old job back.

You think its sweet now, just give me some time and my buddies money :D

i said not to go with it, because sparks has been selling the 02 crf cam as their own. plus its not ideal for MX, he would want the HC stage 2 or HRC for MX.

The new Sparks cam is indeed a new cam. Yeah, I knew in the beginning thats all Sparks was doing was using the CRF cams. We've had good luck with the Sparks/CRF cams in other motors so we're leaving that option open. Just kinda depends on cash flow at the time and what else we plan on doing to the motor.

Right now the plan is for:

JE 13:1 Piston
Port Work
FCR Carb
Sparks or StageII or HRC cam (one of those)

Are your stock shocks revavled for the +2 arms?

This isnt my personal quad....just one I've had a hand in on building....

No, they're not revalved for the +2s. You can set them up halfway decent to work with the +2s to where they'll work pretty good, just a tad soft. I wouldnt recommend going out and hitting a 75 foot double or something but for smaller jumps and general riding.....they work pretty nice.

As of right now, my buddy is putting back $$$ to buy a new truck so I dont know if we're going to go Elka or Axis.....we might have JH Racing do his conversion on the stock shocks which would make the fronts ZPS/Triple Rate and the rear ZPS/Dual rate. This setup works great on +2s.

But you can make the stock shocks work with +2s.....

Thanks, I'm looking for a 450R since selling one of the 400ex's.

Good to know about using the stock shocks with +2 arms. Thanks for the info.

Looking forward to seeing another Honda in the garage!

Yeah, right now my buddy is planning on doing the frame "Red Vein" with a chrome or polished subframe. Then do the swingarm flat textured black with the lower a-arms the same and upper a-arms chrome.

He changes his mind all the time though, next week it will be something different. It'll look good when its all said and done!
