I was in Glamis a few weeks ago with my cousin and we were both racing up Olds hill. We both have 05 R's, HRC Kitl and full exhausts systems. Being that I am a better rider I would get the hole shot, run throught the woops and be about 4 bike lengths ahead. At about 3/4 the way up the hill he would pull me everytime.:eek2: He would finish about a bike length ahead of me!! We would both end up at the top of the hill in 2nd!

The two differences between the quads is I run FMF Titanium 4 system and 10 PADDLE tires....He runs WB Titanium Race Series system and 8 paddle tires?

I would think the exhausts would make that much of a difference?? I didn't think to switch paddles till the way home.

Let me know what everyone thinks....

Thanks.

Yeah it's the paddles. Try a 20-10-8 7 paddle extreme hauler, that will do the trick.

I agree. Don't go over an 8 paddle tire.

The gearing on a 450R is way too tall to pull 10 paddles. Like these guys said dont go over an 8 paddle. I geared my 450R to a 13/39 or 13/40 depending on where it is, and its yet to be beaten by another 450.

Is this in the sand R3? I ride Glamis and had a slow time pulling 3rd. 2nd was nice but it felt like it wanted 3rd. I have only been to Glamis twice so I'm far from a sandaholic. I run geckos because I don't just drag, but what gearing would be good for Olds with my mods. You see, I just got off a warrior and have a couple of sandaholic friends with 440 and 250r. Their fast, really fast.

Yes this is in the sand with 20s. Id run a 13/40 with your mods and it will pull hard 3rd and might pull 4th up Olds, it isnt very steep. Or if you want jump down to a 12 in the front and keep the stock rear, but it will wear out chain sliders fast if you leave it on for a long period of time.
