I use my ex to ride in the dunes and hit up the local track every now and then. I ride it everyday and I race my friends al lthe time. I am ithnking about a 426 or a 440. At the time I get the kit, the only thing I will get is a hot cams stage 2, and thats it. Which one wil be FLAT OUT faster for sand drags and smokin friends. One has a 450, another has a slightly modded z, and another has a stock kfx400. the only mod I hvae a is a K&N filter and sparks x-6 pipe.

Thanks,
Danny

the 440 would be better but still wont outrun the 450 unless your the better rider.

by the way I wouldn't recommend just doing the bore and the cam, you will need more work than that, like hardfaced rockers, heavyduty cam chain, oversized head studs, and probably a full pipe with those mods, and then an 8 plate clutch system to handle the power. Your better off doing suspension mods first.

i Have a 440 kit with a stage 2 cam and a full hmf and me and my cousin were side by side opn his all stock new 450r in the dunes.. I have yet to see a 400ex keep up with a slightly modded 450... I agree that doing suspension is best to do first. or you could get a 450r or a yfz450 before you dump a bunch of money in a 400ex....
