HELP I have a Stock length LSR steering stem on my 2001 Honda 400EX and it has a slight bend in it so I shimmed it with a few washers to clear my 5.5 gallon clarke tank, but I just got a Houser wristwrester for my bike and found out that it needed to be flat against the frame so I can't use the spacers anymore, and the stem rubs the tank again. I want to get a new stem, but I was looking for advise on which to buy. I am also considering going for a +1 in length, and maybe even +1 forward. I look forward to your response, and opinions. Thanks alot..

The bend is so very slight it is an awsome stem the chrome is MINT its like brand new. The Stem cost me close to $400 shipped. I heard they can be bent back, but I don't have access to anyone to do that. Maybe someone out there does. I would like at least $250.00 or BO

its not junk I wouldn't call a practically brand new stem Junk with a slight bend. I could use it with my stock tank and you'd never even no it was bent its the oversized tank that rubs a little bit.

Stems are pretty much stems. The two I have been around are LSR and houser, yours is bent and I broke the steering stop tab off my houser. I say which ever stem you can find for a good price.

Housers are 180, LSR's from rocky mountain are 290, Roll are plain exspensive, Atv 4play makes a reall nice one don't know how much though. I have a lsr but i like 4plays and Housers best.

D&D racing who makes snowmobile stuff is creeping into the atv scene. They sell 4130 chromoly stems for most sport atvs in different lengths for $150!!!!

I had a LSR stem a couple years back and had very bad luck. The "duck foot" on the bottom was not sufficiently gussetted and was constantly bending. It also bent slightly about halfway between the bottom and the top steering stem bushing. I junked it and replaced it with a laeger which I had absolutely no issues with. Matt

Im pretty sure the chrome plating on some stems actually weakens them too. jsut something else to watch out for.
