LSR 400ex axle trade for 450R axle

I have a 400ex LSR axle that is in great cond. nothing wrong at all with it only about a month or so riding on it. I would like to trade it for an extended 450R axle LSR or RPM.

The sprocket hub is different, the way it sits in the carrier and when putting the 450 sprocket hub on the 400ex axle it has a little bit of play in it.

why cant you just leave the 400ex sproket hub on the 400ex axle?
or am i not understanding it right?
i know i have a 400ex for a woods beater,i put a whole 450r axle and brake system through my ex. everything worked the same.
