i wouldn't go saying that now. my buddy has a 440 stroker with a lot of head work, like porting, bigger valves, billet cam, etc....., and i rode it, and imp it doesn't compare to a yfz, and maybe not a 450r. it was built with FT in mind, so it didn't have hardly enough low-end. but i will say, these motors are pretty mean.

Really? The 440 I built beat YFZ before I went to the 460, no problem. I was hoping to really kick some butt now.

A buddy of mine (who weighs less than me) was beating YFZ up a dune drag. He posts his comments here at the link below ...

That was before the race head and the 460

Sounds like a sick 460! Keep us posted on how it does at the dunes.

My 416ex, cam, porting, valve job ect can beet a stock yfz but at the end it starts to pull away because it has a slightly higher top speed.

when are you going to dyno it?

It did well. I still have another 6 hours of riding time before I can really say exactly how much more performance it had over the 13:1 440. It took about 10 hours on the that motor before it really came alive. I expect that this will take at least the same amount of time to fully break in. I took a little more time today breaking it in since its got a new crank - and wanted to make sure the bearings were breaking in properly.

So far I am impressed. I will put it on the dyno in another month or so. It would be nice to get 50hp out of it.

do you think it is faster than your 440 or just more torque?

what is the deal with these superlight pistons? i am only familiar with the regular je's.

It's wierd that some people think a YFZ can't be beat...

Right now I'm reserving judgement on how much more fast it is compared to the 440. The reason is that its not fully broken in yet, and rev performance cant be measured until it is broken it. There is a really nice power band that formed at the end of the day. Time will tell if it ends up being as quick revving as the 13:1 440. I suspect it will, simply because it took some time for it to fully break in as well.

The logic that I am working through is making a stroker quick. The cams are the 463/9i cam that are very quick revving. Add the new 12:1 superlight piston (which resembles the piston on the 450R) and the lightened flywheel, and that should end up helping the stroker rev quicker than normal.

Im not concerned at all with top speed, where I ride is power and rev quickness.

I'm doing the same thing right now, just waiting for more parts to come in.

Who did you have lighten your flywheel. Or is there a company making them?
