View Full Version : i need help (not mental either)

my daughter has to do a science project for school
i was thinking of maybe a steam powered generator to show how it produces electricity or something on those lines but i need some ideas on how to build it.
i also thought of a water wheel to show how it produces elec.
can anyone help

tried the water wheel in 5th grade, but i couldnt find stuff for it.

your best bet is to try something solar powered, it should be easier to find parts for.

in 7th grade i made a town scenario type thing showing why back in the day ppl farther away from the powerplant got dimmer lights. It was due to the wire they used. It was pretty easy, i got part of a piece of plywood, made some power poles (3 corners) then had a light bulb at the end, and the switch with 2 batteries on the other to turn it on, then i had a lil write up for it.... i wont 1st place :D

my daughters principal is real big in science (he was the runner up for the teacher in space thing) so he takes it serious everything has to be well college type basicly

I mostly remember how i did it. I can ask my dad too, he might remember some of it. It was really easy.

cant you like take an alternator and hook a water wheel up to it and use one of them garden pond pump thingies to make a river? then put meter on the terminals of alternator to show voltage? i dunno dude just tryin to help!!!
