if i go with the hot start on the ASV clutch lever can i use the stock cable or will i have to get the baldwin one??

I got the hot start lever and it does NOT work with the stock cable I just zip tied it tight to the bars and left it i doont even use it, from what i have heard the crf450r cable will work.
