HotCam stage 2 should work great for you. reliability shouldn't change as long as it is installed correctly

Like he said, reliability isn't an issue if installed correctly. This bike responds well to aftermarket cams. I'd either choose the Stage 2 Hotcam, or the HRC cam if I were you. Good luck.

Both are good. I would get the Stage 2, it is much cheaper and produces good gains throughout the power band. Get on a search engine and put in 450R Stage 2 Hot Cam, you should be able to get it for $120 or so.

drop to a 13T, it will make the quad's power a lot more usable on the trails and hill climbing. It's a great mod and it is cheap. The stock crf450 sprocket is 13T and works great.

Enjoy....
